Pool of Paucity

Water is the very essence of life for all living creatures on this planet. It is vital for survival. It is a valuable resource from which we are soon going to run out in few decades, if we continue to take it for granted.

Water scarcity is now becoming a bigger and bigger problem – Cape Town is a perfect example. With the passing years , the no. of countries are only adding in the list of countries which have water scarcity. And India is one of them . Water scarcity is the lack of sufficient available water resources to meet the demands of water usage within a region.Talking about India, unfortunately India’s rank is 120 out 122 countries in Water Quality Index . In India, 2 lakh people die every year due to inadequate access to safe water. India is facing its worst water crisis in history said by Niti Aayog. Nearly 600 million Indians faced high to extreme water stress. Some predict that by 2030, India’s water demand will be twice the available supply. In India, 84% rural households do not have piped water access. 70% of the water is contaminated. As water availability is fix but the demand is increasing because :

(1) Growing human population

(2) Rapid growth of irrigated agriculture

(3)Urbanisation

(4) Poor Management

(5) Climate Change

(6) Over usage

This will also affect the GDP of country by 6% loss by 2050. There are 21 cities which include Delhi , Bangalore, etc. which will run out of ground water in some years. Bangalore had water at 400 ft . Now, it has reached 1000 ft in last 5 years which is a drastic drop down.

Abundance is not a licence for waste

Either we don’t know or we don’t care about the consequences we all are going to face in few years.By 2050 at least one in four people will live in the country where lack of fresh water will be chronic or recurrent.

Now, it’s high time to make proper management, rules and their implementation so, that smiles can be brought back on the faces of people who are going through it .We should not only depend on govt. Along with govt. we all should take a step together to solve this problem.

Some solutions:

(1) Educate people about it and spread awareness

(2) Recycle water ♻️

(3) Advanced technology related to conserve water

(4) Improve sewage systems and agricultural methods

(5) Support clean water initiatives

First blog experience

Date- 6 April, 2019

I was sitting idle , suddenly got an idea that I should write about my experience of my first blog which I posted 2 days ago named- ‘ Road to Havoc’ .

The first thing we all think before starting something new is that what others are going to think about us maybe it’s about blogging or anything. Before posting my blog I was very nervous about if I posted something wrong, what if I made some mistake, what others will think about me,etc.

Second thing is that I was confused 🤔if blogging is something that I want to do because sometimes we only think about money we can earn from blogging or social media. In between we forget about our likes and dislikes.

Third is that you are going to get demotivation from someone. They will tell you that you can’t do it , many people do blogging but only some people come into light.

But you know what is the best part it’s experience you are going to get from it. At least you won’t regret that you didn’t even try. So, don’t bother what other say about you , you should always follow your heart.

Road to Havoc

Forests are boon to every species including human beings on this planet. They are habitat for many species. They provides us oxygen and other products that are beneficial to us. But many people of this enormously increasing human population are not using them but exploiting them. Deforestation has now become a major concern for all the countries. Deforestation means clearing of large no. of trees on a wide scale. Reasons for deforestation are:(1)To make land available for growing population (2)To obtain commercial products from them(3)Create area for cattle ranching.

There are many methods of deforestation but the most common that came into light are Slash and burn agriculture technique, selective logging, etc.

Deforestation is considered to be one of the contributing factor for global climate change. And the major effect due to deforestation is loss of habitat for many species. Experts says that 100-1000 species lost per million every year. Earth is losing animal species at 1000 times the natural rate due to human activities. If this rate continues rainforests will completely clear in next 100 years. Deforestation also have a deep impact on human population in job sector. Forests occupies 31% land of our planet. It provides jobs to 13.2 million people all over the world in the forest sector. We are losing 18.7 million acres of forests annually. WWF has been working to protect forests. They work with govt., companies, communities and more. It’s time that we all should take a major step together to deal with this issue so that the incoming generation can have this beautiful gift of nature.

At last, in this modern era although we have gained so much but we had lost more that that.
